My Unusual Cat Belvedere

With the orange and white coat Belvedere has spots and stripes. He also has a strip of fur that stands up along his spine. He also likes to hold his tail curled downward.
I have noticed several breeds on your site that look something like my cat but not quite. Belvedere is a medium sized cat but his head seems a but small or skinny which appears comparable to the Abyssinian picture on the site, but yet he looks a lot like some of the spotted varieties. However he has spots toward the back and some stripes toward the front. In addition, he has a darker strip of hair that stands up kind of like a short Mohawk from his shoulder blades on down to his tail. I notice also the spotted cats don't all have the white face and white paws he has. I would say his eye shape is kind of interesting as sometimes I think he looks kind of oriental. They are slanted and kind of similar to an almond shape. His ears sit pointed upward from his head but are rounded off slightly. (When he was a kitten he had ear tufts but lost them as he aged). The eyes are a bright yellow color with blue around the pupil.
As for personality, he is intelligent and acts like he knows things. He doesn't like loud noises and can be frightened by company that is new to him or too noisy. He sometimes has hyper streaks and likes to try to play by running away from a person to make them chase him. For some reason, when we pay attention to his adopted brother Harley--a mixed short-hair with some obvious Russian Blue traits--he tries to get in on the attention. He makes sure to get his share of meal time and drinking water. Some of his behavior is annoying to his brother, who is a more gentle cat--although Harley gets his playful streaks as well. Belvedere Likes to jump up on things to be nearer to a person and loves sitting in laps. He sometimes likes to groom humans with his tongue--when he was younger he seemed upset that clothes were in the way of him doing this and would pull on them with his teeth.
Sometimes he talks to us in his high pitched--for a male--voice. You talk about him or say his name and he responds with a mew.
I was wondering, what possible breeds could have made this cat? His mother was white and grey. Sometimes I wondered if one of the listed spotted varieties mated with his mother. (His mother, by the way was likely a barn cat that wondered off to have kittens. She left him with us at about 5 months of age. I wasn't sure if that was because we picked him up and left our scent on him or she was having some more kittens). In Addition could he be considered a new breed? I can't breed him now other than by cloning because he is neutered. I tried to encourage my parents to let him sire a litter but they insisted he had to get fixed. Well I thank anyone who can give me a clue about his possible relatives. Thanks.
